A new album - UNCOVERED! - THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES is being recorded and the sound is intended to be a powerful statement of Ray's commitment to authentic real roots music with no harmful additives! As Ray says it's 'No bullshit' music.

This is going to be a sound that will define Ray and MUNGO JERRY for a very long time ahead - it's a sound that defies categories but think of it as like food for a moment.

The story does not end there and in 2004 / 2005, MUNGO JERRY will have tours in the USA, South Africa and Australia, in addition to their extensive UK and European commitments on TV and stage. The USA tour is likely to be this Spring / Summer with a working title of 'Mungo Jerry Re-exports the blues to America'. We are likely to play Nashville, Memphis, Dallas and New Orleans - places where Ray's roots have come from. We may organise a facility for fans to follow the tour on the route of the classic blues players: let us know if you're interested. Later in the year some bigger US West Coast festivals may be played. The South Africa tour has evolved as a response to the demand in that country for Ray's sound. Ray is working with Third Ear - a music heritage project who may be organising the tour for late 2004/ early 2005.

There are a couple of TV documentaries in the planning stage which will involve Ray . They are under wraps but will be publicised soon.

Ray continues to be interviewed for press, radio and TV. Ray's being recognised as something of an icon - you can be sure of seeing more of him.

Ray has a great current line up - TIM GREEN, MATT ROUND, JAMES DAVIS & TOBY HOUNSHAM - and is working with them and other musicians like GARY FOOT, who he worked with on the recent 'Legends of R'n B' tour.

And yes ! Just when you thought 'IN THE SUMMERTIME' had gone away! Ray and Roland are working on various ITS projects including a musical, a restaurant and a range of products which can borrow the ITS theme as long as they are consistent with the real, life affirming and no b/s position of Ray & MJ.

Behind the scenes and alongside of Ray, ROLAND DUNNE (older fans, like me, may remember his MJ Griddlebone club in the early 70's) has been brought on board as a manager. Roland's going to make sure that the projects and plans move in the same direction .

There is a momentum and a critical mass of interest building in Ray and MUNGO JERRY and we want to build on that. ELIOT COHEN, Ray's long term associate and publisher continues in that role doing sterling work in getting publishing, licensing and song placements in advertising and movies.

Roland has recently moved from Texas where he had been worked for blue chip clients in the marketing and promotions programs. He's been a long time admirer of Ray and has a deep interest in blues and related music. He's working as executive producer on the 'EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES' album and has just been on the Swedish tour with the band getting feel for the current sound. Ray can now hand many projects onto Roland to progress chase while he continues to make the sound that is so distinctive. Writing, recording and performing need as much space as possible and Roland will facilitate that from now on.

In conclusion! MUNGO JERRY is a no bullshit band with a visionary leader who has run his own race and has stuck to his true beliefs in real music. And he truly appreciates the support of his fans and many in the business who see a legend that's been right in front of them for a long time: Uncovered at last! ENJOY!
