JUNE'08 NEWS

In a year where we heard of the sudden death of former bass player BYRON CONTOSTAVLOS, more bad news reached us at MUNGOMANIA when we heard that the keyboard player with Ray's UK line-up, CHRIS GARRETT sadly passed away on October 7th.

Chris had only just joined the band and was proving to be a great asset playing not only keyboards but a variety of other instruments as well such as saxophone and mandolin.

Our condolences to his friends and family.

Another wonderful MUNGO JERRY compilation has been released through Easyplay, with what has become the norm' these days, superb packaging and sleevenotes. Compiled by RAY DORSET himself, it includes many gems from the archives of the great man, such as a version of 'PEACE IN THE COUNTRY'taken directly from the original acetate back in 1970. Extended versions of two of my own personal favorites in 'SHE HAD TO GO' and 'WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME' make it another fine collectors item.
