Here is the follow-up news update RAY DORSET gave us in May 2008.

CHATTING TO YOU THE OTHER NIGHT, YOU TOLD ME THAT THE ‘COOL JESUS’ ALBUM IS NOW FINISHED, WITH SOME NEW TRACKS. WHAT ARE THEY AND WHEN CAN WE EXPECT A RELEASE? Four new titles have been recorded, 'PRAYING SO HARD', 'GIVE US A SONG', 'I LIE AWAKE', and 'I WANNA LIVE IN THE SUN'. All good stuff, the guys in the band, and 'Doc', the studio owner and engineer, put a lot of energy and good work on all of the recordings, and I am more than pleased in how it turned out. Incidentally, the album is very long, just over 70 minutes! A release date is yet to be planned. Bruce has begun working on the artwork. ARE YOU PLAYING, (OR ARE GOING TO PLAY) ANY OF THE TRACKS AT GIGS? I expect to be playing some of the songs live, I have an enormous repertoire so I have to think about how to fit in the new stuff and still play the old favourites. HAS THERE BEEN ANY DEVELOPMENTS ON YOUR IDEA OF A COLLECTION OF DEMOS, OUT-TAKES AND PREVIOUSLY UN-RELEASED RECORDINGS? I’m gathering the recordings together at odd times when the mood takes me, but I will not compile them until I have the outstanding projects completed. I FEEL SURE THAT YOU TOLD ME ONCE THAT YOU HAD THE ORIGINAL DEMO’S FOR SONGS SUCH AS ‘LADY ROSE’ AND THE TRACKS FROM ‘COLD BLUE EXCURSION’. WAS I RIGHT IN THINKING THAT AND IF SO, I THINK FANS WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTED IN HEARING THEM. I KNOW I WOULD? If I can find them they will surely be included in the collection. WHICH OTHER DEMOS DO YOU HAVE THAT WE HAVE NEVER HEARD? I have many, and one that springs to mind is my original demo of 'LET'S GET STARTED'. Problem is that the tapes are so old; I may have trouble trying to get them to play. WHAT OTHER THINGS ARE GOING ON AT THE MOMENT? I am still trying to resolve the dispute that I have with ELIOT COHEN, this is very expensive and takes up too much of my valuable time. The next on the agenda is to make a remix of 'MR.MIDNIGHT', this is a great song and recording, ROBERTO (DANOVA) had all of the parts sent to me so that I can do my own interpretation of the recording. Many other things in the pipeline, and of course, I still have to record the 'EMPERORS NEW CLOTHES' album.
