I BELIEVE THAT THERE MAY BE A DEVELOPMENT WITH ‘COOL JESUS’? After all this time I thought that I had better find a way to get some physical CD's on the market and my old friend HANSI DERER, who is based in the Stuttgart area of Germany has made me an offer to have it distributed and exported. I'm expecting to get a deal done this week to have all of my stuff out around the world on about 650 digital music platforms too. Times have changed but it does not bother me to have a lot of recordings hanging around waiting to see the light of day, I mainly record stuff for the enjoyment of it, it has not been often that I have thought about recording music to be out there to make money, this certainly was the case when I recorded the first MUNGO JERRY album sessions which of course included the recording of 'IN THE SUMMERTIME'. WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER RECORDING PROJECTS? Well, the 'KICKING BACK' album that I recorded in Vienna with HEINI ALTBART and the gang will be ready to put out on CD for the shows that I begin doing in Vienna this month. PHIL SWAN and I have been working on a track for a potential advertising project and we are also archiving as we go through the many demos, outakes and previously released matereal that I have dug out of the storage. I also have mastered all of the jamming that I did with PETER GREEN, VINCENT CRANE, JEFF WHITTAKER, LEN SURTEES, etc, pre-KATMANDU album recording. WHAT IS THE CURRENT UK BAND LINE-UP? TOBY HOUNSHAM, keys, - JON PLAYLE, bass, - MARK DAVID , drums, - and myself, ALAN JOHNSON has become tour manager for KEE MARCELLO, and to be honest, it is good to be a four piece again at the moment that is, especially now that Toby is using the organ more. IF THERE ISN’T A PROCESSED PEA VISIT THIS YEAR, DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE ANY JUG BAND GIGS? HOW ABOUT A JUG BAND, ‘NO FRILLS’ TYPE OF ALBUM? At the moment I can't really get excited about playing this kind of music, now and again I listen to the old stuff by the greats, mainly out of interest, it could be that I have done so much of it that it is now out of my system. I would rather do a blues, jazz, rockabilly, swing, campfire song, gospel, American folk, NO FRILLS album. THE FORTHCOMING BOOK, ‘MUNGO JERRY & ME’ PUBLICATION WAS PUT BACK TO APRIL, IS EVERYTHING STILL ON TRACK? I don't know when it will be published now, this year I hope, there will be a lot more material added and many more pictures. ANY PROSPECT OF A COLABORATION WITH BOB DAISLEY, TIM REEVES, ETC? We spoke about doing it with JOHNNY COOK, but it has not happened, I could not fit it in this year, a tour that is, a festival would be good, shame really, we're not getting any younger, that's for sure. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YET? I'll let you know if it gets confirmed, I get started on stuff and don't get it completed for ages, mainly because this legal battle takes up most of my time and money right now, it's been going on for about five years now.
