(Cat No:METRDC616 - AVAILABLE FROM THE SHOP - 11TH JUNE) A very interesting looking MUNGO JERRY compilation is released on June 11th from Union Square Music. A 40 track set of recordings from the Dawn days is a far cry from the dark days of poorly thought out MJ offerings that we used to find at the bottom of market stall baskets for a couple of quid and is beautifully presented with a classy booklet and sleevenotes. The only disappointment is the lack of any previously unavailable tracks but it remains highly collectable nevertheless - shop price £9 + P & P. Tracks are: |
RAY PLAYS AT T.REX TRIBUTE GIG
On the 15th September 2007, T.REX tribute band, T.REXTASY will be hosting a special anniversary 2 hour concert for MARC BOLAN to commemorate his 30th anniversary and what would have been his 60th birthday. The concert will take place at The Shepherds Bush Empire in London. Tickets will be available from 8th June priced at £30.00 (+ booking fee) directly from the Empire box office - Tel. 0870 771 2000 - Proceeds will be split between Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and the PRS Members Fund.
In this never-to-be-repeated event, special guests will be performing his songs alongside T-REXTASY, including: RAY DORSET, TONY VISCONTI (Bolan/Bowie producer), ROLAN BOLAN (Marc's son), SHAKIN' STEVENS, MARC ALMOND, LINDA LEWIS, CLEM BURKE (Blondie drummer), JOHN'S CHILDREN (Bolan's early 1960s psych band), RUBY TURNER, and others to confirm. |

Stephen White from Sanctuary has telephoned to confirm the shops order for the RAY DORSET's 'BOP 'TIL I DROP' and PAUL KING's 'WIND OF CHANGE' Rarities 2CD sets will arrive next week for despatch for the 6th August worldwide release date. Derek has confirmed this with me, the sets have arrived at the shop and will be dispatched Friday the 3rd for delivery on the 6th. It has been a long time coming, but I think you will agree, well worth the wait! |

On FRIDAY 3rd AUGUST, there will be broadcast, a "best of" of PATRICK SEBASTIEN "Les annees bonheur", and MUNGO JERRY
will feature on the show (with The EQUALS, The RUBETTES, etc).
It is the show that was recorded last November in Paris, and already broadcast in December 2006. So if you have FRANCE 2 on cable or satellite, don't forget to watch it (it is sometimes, broadcast again on TV5 MONDE, 1 or 2 days later)
