'MUNGO JERRY Re-exports the Blues'- USA JUNE 04 TOUR THE FIRST USA TOUR IN A DECADE


Legendary London Blues and R'n B man, RAY DORSET, a.k.a. MUNGO JERRY makes his first American appearances in over ten years. While widely known for, 'IN THE SUMMERTIME' and other mainstream hits in the 1970s, Ray has also always had a strong blues following as evidenced by the enthusiastic reception of the latest album, 'ADULTS ONLY' (released USA July 2004).

A special CD, ‘MESSAGE TO AMERICA’ highlights the range of RAY DORSET’s writing and performing. The CD is a tribute to the American roots of Ray’s music. Whatever the line-up & material, Ray's distinctive sound is always evident.

Most of the ’MESSAGE TO AMERICA’ material is written by Ray. As a bonus there are a number of LEADBELLY and WOODY GUTHRIE - 'DUST BOWL BALLADS' - tracks which feature Ray in his skiffle mode. Skiffle influenced THE BEATLES, ROLLING STONES and others in the UK. The tour takes place between Thursday 10 June & Friday 19 June 2004. It comprises a number of charitable, free, & ticket only appearances & TV - Radio appearances.

HAD FRANK ZAPPA AND HENDRIX AMONGST HIS AUDIENCE IN LEGENDARY FESTIVALS AND VENUES INCLUDING THE SPEAKEASY AND THE HOLLYWOOD FESTIVAL.

WROTE 'FEELS LIKE I'M IN LOVE' WITH ELVIS IN MIND (which subsequently became a Number 1 high energy dance record recorded by KELLY MARIE).

HAS HIS MUNGO JERRY SONGS USED IN COUNTLESS MOVIES, COMMERCIALS AND TV SERIES INCLUDING, 'THE CRYING GAME', 'FANNY AND ELVIS', TWIN TOWNS' AND MANY MORE.

RAY DORSET launches the 'MUNGO JERRY RE-EXPORTS THE BLUES' tour of the U.S on 11th June 2004, in Dallas, Texas at the historic Lakewood Theater. (The Dallas concert is for the Rodinia Foundation, a USA charity supporting development programs in South Africa).

The tour goes on to include the Continental Clubs in Austin and Houston, the B.B King Club NYC, the Club Helsinki in MA and finishes at the Harley Davidson HOG in Maryland.
